Players will be able to recruit up to five characters, such as a Saiyan onslaught with Vegeta, Bardock and Gohan helping out with a Kamehameha wave attack, or recruiting gods such as Beerus and Broly to help even the odds. While there will be a 100 characters in the game, the majority of them will be relegated to support and assist attacks. But you’ll only have a few of them to play with, despite the massive cast that will be present in the game. It looks as charming as can be, with proper 2D sprites destroying planets left, right and center. And that’s why I’ve got my eye on the upcoming Extreme Butoden on 3DS. Games such as Dragon Ball Z: Super Sonic Warriors and the Butoden series are prime examples of this. Thing is, some of the best Dragon Ball Z games have been constrained to two dimensions of action. It’s tight, looks great and the 3D combat is a right treat when you get to grips with it. I’m currently digging Dragon Ball XenoVerse.
